The driver will remain with the bus during the field trip and the bus can be parked in the upper lot of the Jack Turner Softball Stadium located at 2330 South Milledge Avenue, Athens, GA 30605. If your group arrives in a bus, you can plan to drop off students near the entrance on Hull Street. Elementary Schools: 1:5 ratio is recommended whenever possible. Secondary Schools: 1:10 ratio for chaperones per students. For overnight trips chaperone gender must match student gender. Go to the Special Collections Building’s front desk and we will validate your parking with your tag number. Chaperones must be at least age 21 and must have an approved volunteer application on file at the school. When your groups arrive, bypass the pay machine inside the deck. Passenger vans or multiple cars are welcome to park in the Hull Street Parking Deck. There are dining options for groups on campus and downtown. 10.00 each Adult chaperone admission (including parents, volunteers and homeschool parents). In the event of inclement weather, we can host your group for lunch in an available space in our building. Basic Field Trip Costs Student admission. There are plenty of free resources museums and historic sites offer to teachers, and they often include pre-departure and reflection activities. Our exhibit space accommodates a group of 60 students and chaperones/teachers at a time this larger group should arrive pre-divided into two smaller groups of 30 students each. If students are completing an assignment related to the field trip, give a copy to the chaperones so they can offer guidance to their student group.
